Make your own Art Journal

Hello everyone,

 vandaag heb ik zelf een Art Journal gemaakt. Het voordeel hiervan is dat je op los papier kan werken en ook nog heel gemakkelijk weer papier kan toevoegen.

today I've made my own Art Journal. The advantage of this is that you can work on a seperate piece of paper and you can also easily add paper.

Ik ben begonnen om grijsboard op maat te snijden. 

Kijk eerst goed naar de maat van je papier wat je er in wil en zorg dat het tussen de gaatjes past en dat het breed genoeg is.

Het grijsboard heb ik aan beide kanten in de witte gesso gezet. Het grijsboard is aan de binnenkant met elkaar verbonden met een stevig stukje kraft papier.
Laat een beetje ruimte tussen de stukken grijsboard.

First I cut the cardboard in the right size. Make sure that the paper fits between the holes and also make sure that is is wide enough.

I applied white gesso on the cardboard. The cardboard is connected on the inside with a piece of sturdy craftpaper. 
Leave a small amount of space between the cardboard pieces.

 Ik heb de binnen en de buitenkant in de blauwe acrylverf gezet.

I painted the inside and the outside blue with acrylic paint.

Bij de volgende stap ga ik dit stencil gebruiken 470.803.043.

For the next step I'm going to use the stencil 470.803.043.

 Ik heb witte structuur pasta aangebracht met behulp van het stencil en toen het goed droog was heb ik hier en daar Distress Ink aangebracht.

I applied white texture paste with the stencil and when that had dried I applies Distress Ink.

Voor de voorkant heb ik hetzelfde stencil gebruikt als op de achterkant, maar heb minder structuur pasta aangebracht omdat ik er nog een tekst op wou stempelen. 

Voor de rug heb ik het stencil 470.803.046 gebruikt en ik heb hier en daar wat gestempeld.

I used the same stencil on the front, but I applied less texture paste, because I wanted to stamp a text on the front. 

And for the spine of the journal I used the stencil 470.803.046 and I used some stamps.

Ik heb ook vast één achtergrond gemaakt voor in mijn Art Journal.
Ik heb drie kleuren Distress Oxide op mijn craftsheet aangebracht en daar water over heen gesprayed.

I also made one background for in my Art Journal. I applied three colours of Distress Oxide on my craftsheet and sprayed some water on it.

De achtergrond ga ik met dit stencil bewerken 470.802.048.

I'm going to use the stencil 470.802.048 on the background.

Ik heb met behulp van het stencil met een groene Distress Oxide de motieven op de achtergrond aangebracht.

I used green Distress Oxide with the stencil to create the motives on the background. 

Ik heb twee linten door de gaatjes gedaan en aan de buitenkant vast geknoopt. Ik heb het papier dubbel gevouwen en zo kan je de bundels met papier onder het lint doorschuiven.

Ik heb twee bundels gemaakt, maar drie zou ook kunnen. Het papier heeft allemaal dezelfde maat, maar je kan ook met verschillende maten werken, en het is ook mogelijk om verschillende soorten papier of enveloppen te gebruiken.

I put two ribbons through the holes and I tied them on the outside. I folded the paper in halve and then you can slide the bundels of paper under the ribbons.

I made two bundles, put you could use three. The paper is all the same size, but it is possible to use different sizes and it is also possible to use multiple types of paper or envelopes.

De voorste binnenkant heb ik ook nog wat teksten op gezet met het stencil 470.850.000.
 Ook heb ik op beide binnenkanten spetters aangebracht met witte acrylverf.

I used the stencil 470.850.00 to apply the text on the inside of the front panel. 
And I applied white spatters with acrylic paint. 

Dit is het eind resultaat, hopelijk heb ik jullie hier mee kunnen inspireren.

Cute as a cactus

Hello Everyone,

Vandaag ben ik met de cactussen aan de slag gegaan, ik heb mooie vrolijke kleurtjes gebruikt, die mooi bij het heerlijk zomers weertje van de afgelopen dagen past.

Today I've worked with the cacti, I've used some bright colours that match the beautiful weather of the last couple of days.

De kleine cactussen zijn van mdf en de grote van hout, als eerste heb ik alles in de Gesso gezet.

-

The small cacti are made of mdf and the large one is made of wood. First I applied Gesso on all of them.

De grote cactus heb ik bewerkt met structuur pasta en met een palet mes daar een groffe structuur op aangebracht. Ik heb beide kanten met de pasta bewerkt.

I applied texture paste on the large cactus and I used a palette knife to apply the rough texture.

De potjes van de kleine cactussen heb ik een mooi vrolijk kleurtje gegeven, de oranje heb ik later toch ook roze gemaakt omdat die kleur een beetje tegenviel. De onderdeeltjes klik je heel gemakkelijk in elkaar en zo staan ze mooi stevig

I painted the pots in bright colours, eventually I changed the orange to pink, because I didn't like the orange colour. The parts click together very easily and are very sturdy. 

Om een mooie strakke lijn te krijgen heb ik de gele tape gebruikt, dit werkt ideaal en neemt geen verf mee als je het weer verwijderd.

To get a crisp line, I used yellow tape. This works very good and doesn't take of the paint when you remove it.

De cactussen zijn inmiddels groen geverfd en de pot van de grote cactus heeft ook een mooi kleurtje gekregen. De potjes heb ik nog een beetje opgepimpt met een stencil.

The cacti have been painted green and teh pot of the large cactus has also been painted in a bright colour. I used a stencil on the pots.

Nog even een foto van de memorol/maskeer tape. Ik gebruik dit erg veel, vooral op papier is dit erg handig, omdat het je papier niet beschadigd. 

Ik heb de volgende producten van Pronty gebruikt, mdf cactus 460.432.100  mdf cactus 460.432.110  mdf cactus 460.432.120  cactus groot 422.902.005 en het A5 stencil 495.020.002.

Ik hoop dat ik jullie een beetje heb kunnen inspireren en dat jullie ook zin hebben gekregen om met de mooi producten van Pronty aan de slag te gaan.

Lastly a photo of the tape I used. I use this a lot, mostly on paper like this, because it doesn't damage the paper.

I used the following products, mdf cactus 460.432.100, mdf cactus 460.432.110, mdf cactus 460.432.120, cactus large 422.902.005 and the A5 stencil 495.020.002.

Layered stencils

Hello everyone,

Vandaag heb ik twee kaartjes voor jullie gemaakt met de layered stencils.

-

Today I've made two cards with the layered stencils.

Het mooie zwarte MDF clipboard is ook van Pronty.

The black MDF clipboard is also available at Pronty.

Met het eerste stencil heb ik de roze Distress Oxide Ink aangebracht met een vinger dabber.

-

I applied pink Distress Oxide Ink with the first stencil and a finger dabber.

Stencil twee en dus de tweede laag op de kaart heb ik met groen gedaan.

-

For stencil number two, which is the second layer on the card, I used green.

Voor het derde en laatste stencil heb ik blauw gebruikt.

-

I used blue for the third and final stencil.

Dan is dit het resultaat. De flamingo's zijn van papier en zijn ook van Pronty, ik heb ze gekleurd met dezelfde kleur roze en een beetje zwart. De tekst is met een stencil en zwarte acryl verf opgebracht.

This is the result. The flamingos are made of paper and are also available at Pronty, I coloured them with the same pink Ink and a little bit of black. I applied the text with a stencil and black acrylic paint.

Dit zijn de stencils 470.850.004 en 470.268.119 die ik voor deze kaart heb gebruikt en het papieren setje met de uitdruk figuren.

These are the stencils that I used for this card, 470.850.004 and 470.268.119 and the set with the flamingos.

Voor het tweede kaartje heb ik de Distress Ink gebruikt in vier verschillende kleuren groen. Dit is het eerste stencil.

For the second card I used Distress Ink in four different shades of green. This is the first stencil.

Stencil twee en dus ook laag twee met een iets donkerder kleur groen.

Stencil two, which is also the second layer, in slightly darker green.

Stencil drie, met een iets donkere en fellere kleur groen.

-

Stencil three, with a slightly darker and brighter green.

Als laatste stencil vier met een donkergroene kleur. 

-

Finally stencil four with a dark green colour.

Een mooie groene kaart er achter en een paar toekans maken het kaartje helemaal af.

A nice green card and a few toucans complete the card.

Dit is het stencil setje 470.850.005 wat ik voor deze kaart heb gebruikt. De toekans komen uit hetzelfde setje als de flamingo's.

Vandaag heb ik lekker gewerkt op een doek van 50x50cm, ik heb met acrylverf gewerkt en verschillende stencils.

Hello everyone,

Today I've worked on a canvas of 50 bij 50 cm. I've used acrylic paint and some stencils.

Dit is het eind resultaat, op de volgende foto's laat ik stap voor stap zien hoe dit tot stand is gekomen.

This is the end result, the following photo's show the step by step proces.

Als eerste heb ik drie kleuren acrylverf op het doek verdeeld. De verf heb ik aangebracht met een oude credit card.

First I applied three colours on the canvas. I applied the paint with an old creditcard.

Met de stencils en zwarte acrylverf heb ik verschillende motieven aangebracht, nadat de gekleurde verf droog was.

With the stencils and black acrylic paint I applied different patterns, after the coloured had dried.

Deze keer wil ik ook met teksten gaan werken en ook die heb ik met zwarte acrylverf en een stencil aangebracht, ik gebruik hiervoor het liefst een sponsje of vinger dabbers.

This time I wanted to use some text stencils, I also applied the text with black acrylic paint and I used a sponge or finger dabbers.

Om de gesponste figuren heen teken ik kaders met een zwarte Posca, dit is een stift waar acrylverf in zit.

Around the figures I've drawn some frames with a black Posca, this is a marker with acrylic paint in it.

Hier zie je dat je door eerst te lijnen te tekenen met een Posca en lineaal je de vlakken mooi strak kan vullen met de zwarte acrylverf en een platte penseel.

If you use a ruler and a Posca, you can draw some straight lines. And after that you can colour them in.

Ik vond dat er nog wel wat bij kon en heb zo'n beetje in het midden nog een cirkel aangebracht, met behulp van een CD en heb ik met een stencil in de cirkel gewerkt. Ik heb ook nog wat meer tekst aangebracht.

I thought it needed something more, so I used a CD to make a circle and worked in it with a stencil. I also applied some more texts.

Ik heb om de teksten weer met zwarte vlakken gewerkt.

I used some more black around the text.

Dit is het eind resultaat. De teksten zijn van de nieuwste collectie en die vond ik erg leuk om hier bij te gebruiken.

This is the end result. The texts are from the new collection and I enjoyed using them.

Ik heb de volgende stencils gebruikt uit de nieuwste collectie: 470.529.09 travel quotes, 470.268.120 Lama & cactus, 470.268.119 Tropical nature, 470.268.121 Lama & cactus 1. Uit vorige collecties heb ik de volgende stencils gebruikt: 470.801.047, 470.801.049, 470.803.049, 470.801.040.

Dit doek heb ik gemaakt als voorbeeld voor een workshop, waarvan de opbrengst naar de Samenloop voor Hoop in Drachten gaat en waar ik zelf aan mee doe. De stencils worden gesponsord door Pronty.

Hello everyone

Vandaag ben ik met een aantal producten van de nieuwe collectie aan de slag gegaan. Deze producten zullen binnenkort in de winkels verkrijgbaar zijn. Het is een zeer uitgebreide collectie met een paar leuke thema's.

Today I've worked with some products from the new collection. These products will soon be available. It's a large collection with a couple of fun thema's.

Als eerste heb ik het Deco Wood vliegtuig in de zwarte gesso gezet aan één kant.

-

First I applied black gesso on one side of the Deco Wood plane.

Met het stencil Travel Tags en grijze acryl verf heb ik de vliegtuigjes op het vliegtuig aangebracht.

-

With the stencil Travel Tags and grey acrylic paint I applied the small planes on the Deco Wood plane.

Met turquoise groene acrylverf heb ik het woord fly van het stencil Tropical Nature er nog bij gezet.

-

I used turquoise green acrylic paint and the stencil Tropical Nature to apply the word fly.

 

De achterkant van het vliegtuig heb ik in de witte gesso gezet en daarna de hele achterkant en de zijkanten met turquiose groen geverfd.

-

I used white gesso on the back of the plane and painted the back and sides turquoise green.

De tekst heb ik met grijze acrylverf en met behulp van twee stencils aangebracht. Om zo netjes mogelijk te werken heb ik een deel van het stencil afgeplakt.

I applied the words with the two stencils. I used Post-Its on the parts I didn't use, so I could work as neatly as possible.

Nog een paar vliegtuigjes er bij en  is de andere kant ook klaar.

Just a couple more planes and the other side is also completed.

Het vliegtuig heb ik gemaakt voor een kleine jongen die bijna jarig is en daar hoort dan natuurlijk ook een kaartje bij.

I made the plane for a little boy whose birthday is coming up, so I also made him a birthday card.

Op mijn craftsheet heb ik wat Distress Oxide Ink aangebracht en daar wat water over heen gesprayed.

-

I applied some Distress Oxide Ink on my craftsheet and sprayed some water on it.

Daarna heb ik het papier op de natte inkt gelegd en dan is dit het resultaat.

After that I put the paper on the wet ink and this is the result.

Ik vond nog wat te veel wit in de achtergrond zitten en ben met de blending tool er nog even over heen gegaan met dezelfde kleur.

I thought the background was a little too white, so I went over it with the same colour ink and the blending tool.

Daarna heb ik met zwarte Distress Ink en het stencil Flight Plan de vliegtuigjes aangebracht. De randen heb ik nog een beetje aangezet met zwart en toen het papier op een turquiose groen kaartje geplakt.

After that I used black Distress Ink and the stencil Flight Plan to apply the planes. I put some more black on the edges and glued the paper on a turquoise green card.

Dit zijn de stencils die ik heb gebruikt Travel Tags 470.268.116, Travel Quotes 470.529.009, Flight Plan 470.801.050, Tropical Nature 470.268.118 en dan natuurlijk nog de Deco Wood Airplane 422.000.010.

Ik hoop dat ik jullie al vast een beetje inspiratie heb gegeven voor deze mooie nieuwe collectie, die binnekort weer in de hobby winkels te koop is.
