Mdf Geometric Album. Maar dan anders/ But in a different way

Vandaag laat ik zien dat je het nieuwe Geometric Album niet per se als boekje hoeft te gebruiken. Het kan ook anders, nl als drieluik. Hieronder zie je een filmpje hoe ik het gedaan heb. De beelden zijn versneld (2x) weergegeven.

Today I want to show you that you do not have to use the new Geometric Album as an album. You can use it as a triptych as well. Below you can see a short film how I made it. The subtitles are in dutch, but you can see how it is done. It is shown at twice the normal speed.

Dit is het Geometric Album (467.400.000) van zwart mdf. Het achterblad meet 210 x 148,5 mm

The measurements of the last page are 210 x 148,5 mm 

Ik boorde 3 gaten aan de rechterzijde van de laatste pagina, zoals aangegeven. Een van de andere pagina's als gebruikte ik als mal.

I drilled 3 extra holes on the right side of the last page, as shown. One of the other pages was used  as a guide.

Met gel medium plakte ik verschillende papiertjes op de drie panelen en liet alles goed drogen.

I used gel medium to glue all kinds of papers onto the three panels en let it dry.

Na het drogen schuurde ik alle randjes  met schuurpapier, daarna behandelde ik de paneeltjes met clear gesso.

Het gezicht en de hals verfde ik met acrylverf, daarop tekende ik ogen, neus en mond

All sides were sanded and the panels were painted with clear gesso.

I then painted the face and neck with acryllic paint and drew eyes, nose and mouth

Met neocolor II kleurde ik de lippen en de ogen en de schaduw-delen in het gezicht. Details in de ogen en de wenkbrauwen maakte ik met Inktense potloden. Alles werd met een vochtige kwast uitgewerkt.

With neocolor II I coloured lips and eyes and the shadow parts in the face and neck. Details in the eyes and eye brows I did with Inktense pencils. The neocolors and Inktense were treated with a wet brush.

 Ook het haar deed ik met verf en neocolors. Door het haar over de drie panelen uit te spreiden bracht ik de delen van het drieluik bij elkaar.

The hair was also done with paint and neocolors. By spreading the hair over the three panels I connected the panels.

 Ik nam de vogeltjes over van het stencil Gel Bird (470.803.037) en kleurde ze in met verf, neocolor en potloden

I traced the birds from the stencil Gel Bird (470.803.037) and coloured them with paint, neocolor II and pencils.

Met touwtjes maakte ik de drie paneeltjes aan elkaar

I used string to  connected the three panels

 

 Zo zie je maar dat je sommige producten heel anders kunt gebruiken dan waar ze oorspronkelijk voor bedoeld zijn. Ik hoop dat ik je geïnspireerd heb om het ook te proberen. Je zou bijvoorbeeld een kerst-drieluik kunnen maken!

A set of tea light holders for christmas

Hello to you all,

Ik houd erg van de kerstperiode en vind het erg leuk om mijn huis mooi te versieren. Het is extra leuk als je het dan ook nog zelf gemaakt hebt ! Daarom ben ik aan de slag gegaan om mijn eigen waxinelichthouders te maken met behulp van het Pronty Crafts stencil triangles 470.531.020.

I just love Christmas and I really like to decorate my home. It’s even more fun if you create the decorations yourself ! That’s why I made my own tealight holders with the use of the Pronty Crafts stencil triangles 470.531.020. 

Ik gebruik een papieren boterhamzak als basis. Hierop leg ik mijn stencil en ik maskeer een driehoek.

I’m using a paper sandwich bag as a base. I put my stencil on top and mask a triangle.

Het gemaskeerde gedeelte stencil ik met bronskleurige verf.

I stencil the masked part with bronze paint.

Daarna stencil ik de rest van het patroon met zwarte verf

After that I stencil the rest of the pattern with black paint.

Dan zet ik een glazen pot in de gestencilde zak.

Then I put a glass jar in the stencilled bag.

Ik vouw de bovenkant van de zak een aantal keren om en zet dit vast met een stuk touw. Daarna voeg ik een tag in de vorm van een veer toe.

I fold the top of the bag a few times and put a rope around it. Then I add a tag in the shape of a feather.

Je kunt met deze techniek enorm variëren en veel verschillende patronen maken, afhankelijk van datgene wat je maskeert. Hieronder nog een aantal voorbeelden die ik gemaakt heb.

You can really vary a lot with this technique and make many different patterns, depending on what you mask off. Here you can find a few other examples I made. 

Samen maken ze een mooi geheel ! Ik hoop dat ik jullie weer heb mogen inspireren om ook met de mooie Pronty Crafts stencils aan de slag te gaan deze kerstperiode.

Vandaag heb ik een pagina in mij Art Journal gemaakt in herfstkleuren.

 Ik heb hierbij twee stencils gebruikt, 470.802.069 en 470.850.000.

Today I made a page in my Art Journal using fall colours. I've used two stencils, 470.802.069 and 470.850.000.

 Ik heb over de hele pagina dotjes gele, oranje en bruine verf aangebracht en daarna met de brayer de kleuren voorzichtig verdeeld over het papier.

I applied yellow, orange and brown paint on the page and used a brayer to spread the paint over the page.

Eerst legde ik de mask van de dame op mijn bladzijde. Daarlangs sjabloneerde ik motieven met rode acrylverf . Vervolgens tekende ik de dame met behulp van het stencil en een zwart aquarel potlood.

First I put the mask of the lady on my page. After that I've used the stencil and red acrylic paint to apply the figures, around the lady, on the background. Lastly I used the stencil and a water solutable pencil to draw the lady.

Met het tekststencil bracht ik de tekst aan met zwarte acrylverf.
 De zwarte lijnen heb ik bewerkt met een nat penseel om een soort schaduw te creëren.
 Daarna heb ik met witte acrylverf de cirkels aangebracht, hiervoor gebruikte ik een dop van een spuitbus. Als laatste maakte ik de strepen met een oude bankpas en witte acrylverf

I used the other stencil and black acrylic paint to apply the text. I used a wet paint brush on the black lines, to create a shadow. At the end I used white acrylic paint, empty jars and an old creditcard to stamp the circles and lines.

Vandaag laat ik jullie een heel mooi MDF boekje zien uit de laatste collectie.

Today I show you a beautiful MDF book from the latest collection.

Om te beginnen heb ik alle bladzijden een laagje gesso gegeven. Zo komen de kleuren die ik wil gebruiken mooi uit.

To start I gave all the pages a layer gesso. This makes that the colors I want to use looks brighter.

Toen alle zijden bewerkt met verf en de nieuwste stencils.

Then Ik painted all the pages and used the newest stencils.

Dit zijn de stencils die ik op de achtergrond heb gebruikt.

Hoe doe je dat?

Je begint met een het op kleur brengen van je achtergrond. Dit laat je drogen. Als je achtergrond droog is leg je het stencil waar je het wilt hebben. Je neemt een klein beetje verf op een sponsje en dept de verf over het stencil. Pas echt op dat je niet teveel gebruikt, want dan zou het onder je stencil kunnen lopen.

How to use the Stencils?

First you paint the background in the colors you want. Let that dry. Choose a stencil and put it on the place where you want to have it. Take a little sponge with just a very little bit of paint and sponge the paint over your stencil. Take care: if you use to many paint, there is a change that the paint will go underneath the stencil. 

Dit is de voorkant.

Het hart heb ik met mijn vingers erop geverfd en naderhand afgewerkt met zwarte en witte marker.

Ook op de randen heb ik wat gedoodled.

This is the front.

I painted the heart with my fingers and at last used a black and white marker.

I did some doodles at the sides.

Op deze pagina heb ik op de achtergrond een bladsjabloon gelegd, omgetrokken en toen de contouren zwart geverfd. Met een witte marker gedoodled.

On this page I used a template from a leave. Drawn with a pencil. Then I painted the contours black.

With a white marker I made some doodles.

Als laatste mijn ingekleurde afdrukjes erop geplakt.

To finish stick the images on the page.

Op deze pagina heb ik onderstaande stencils gelegd en met zwarte verf bewerkt.

Rechts nog een stempel erboven en ook hier met witte marker gedoodled.

De bloemen zijn afdrukje die ik heb ingekleurd, uitgeknipt en opgeplakt.

Nog wat stempels, tekst en doodles.

The flowers are colored images. Then cut them out and stick them where you want.

Some stamps and a quote. And, of course, some doodling with a white marker.

Op de achterzijde heb ik weer drie cirkels geverfd met mijn vingers en gesso. Daarna op kleur gebracht. Met een zwarte marker de omlijning gemaakt. De stempels erin gezet en afgemaakt met witte marker.

On the back I painted with my fingers 3 circles with gesso. Then bring on color with the colors you want. All with your fingers. Then take a black marker and make the outlines. Put your stemps and finish with some white doodles.

De ringen erin alles samen te binden. Aan de ringen heb ik lintjes en strikjes en een kralenkettinkje gemaakt.

Now is time to bind all the pages together with some rings. At these rings I put some ribbons and bows.

Layered stencils en PanPastel

Hallo lieve lezers,

vandaag mag ik een keer een blogpost verzorgen.

 Het komt er vaak niet van om een post te maken, ik ben veel actiever op Facebook. 

Maar ons blog is erg belangrijk om allerlei mooie workshop voor jullie klaar te zetten.

Today it's my turn to make a blogpost for you. Usely I post my projects and workshops on our Facebookaccount. But I think our blog is an interesting resource for a lot of nice and inspirational workshops.

Komende week is de nieuwe collectie van eind 2017 in de winkels en kunnen jullie zelf aan de slag met al die mooie hobbymaterialen.

Ik heb jullie al eens een video laten zien over het maken van kaarten met Layered Stencils met inkten, de video zal ik onder aan dit bericht nog een keer posten in een korte versie. 

Next week the collection end 2017 is avaible, so you can work with the same materials our Design team made suchs wonderful projects.
